Print of Vincent Ward film up in smoke

A global search has been launched for a copy of Vincent Ward's film What Dreams May Come after it was destroyed in Universal Studios' Hollywood fire.

Ward directed the 1998 Academy Award winning romantic fantasy starring Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr, which is set to feature in a retrospective of his work at an international film festival in Poland next month.

Greytown-born Ward, who also directed River Queen, Map of the Human Heart and Vigil, was contacted by organisers of the Era New Horizons Film Festival asking for help tracking down a new copy.

Artistic director Joanna Lapinska told him a print of What Dreams May Come was booked to screen at the festival.

However, it was ruined in the dramatic blaze earlier this month.
